Detailed instructions were also given to the District Programmes Coordinators (DPCs) of the newly notified NREGA districts in the orientation workshop held in New Delhi on 10th April, 2007.  A Checklist for planning and monitoring of NREGA activities was also shared with the DPCs {(www.nrega.nic.in) shown as checklist Sl.No.4 under Issues and Processes}.  The most critical activities are:

i)                    IEC especially among wage seekers at the village level

ii)                   Training especially of the District, Block and Gram Panchayat functionaries and the Gram Panchayat members.

iii)                 Preparations of the shelf of projects for each project

iv)                 Availability of application forms and other necessary documents for facilitating registration and issue of job cards at the village level.

v)                  Designation of key personnel functionaries (Programme Officers and Technical Assistants).
