Kindly
refer to this Ministry’s letter No.
PS/JS(S)/NREGA-2007 dated 23.03.2007 in which instructions regarding activities
to be taken up in the districts notified for NREGA on
i) IEC especially among wage seekers at the village level
ii) Training especially of the District, Block and Gram Panchayat functionaries and the Gram Panchayat members.
iii) Preparations of the shelf of projects for each project
iv) Availability of application forms and other necessary documents for facilitating registration and issue of job cards at the village level.
v) Designation of key personnel functionaries (Programme Officers and Technical Assistants).
Status of these activities should be reported by the DPC concerned in the Checklist format to indicate the preparedness of the district to implement NREGA. Request for additional funds for new districts must be accompanied by the status of activities initiated by the new NREGA districts against this Checklist certified and reported by DPCs of the new districts.
